Recently, I had the opportunity to visit a Thai artist at his studio. Jirawat Phirasant is well known in Thailand’s Art world and he also teaches Art at Naresuan University in Phitsanulok. Every day starting at 4am Jirawat will work for a couple of hours in his studio. He said that this time of the day is quite and he can relax. Cool guy!
I will be the first to admit that my knowledge of fine arts is limited. Any art work beyond Stickmen or paint by numbers confuses me.
An artist is a descriptive term applied to a person who engages in an activity deemed to be an art. But what is Art? Most people think of a drawing, painting, sculpture, acting, writing, film making, photography or music. But, I think it involves much more.
What about the carpenter or a brick mason? Then there is the architect, the local butcher or even a teacher. They all work with various mediums hoping to create a masterpiece. But some artists are better than other artists.
Hey wait a minute. I can draw flies…
A look at the studio which displays art from various artists in Thailand.
Hard headed comes to mind.

Often, I try to include faces with the stories. And hopefully, these faces show what is going on. However, in this photo I have no idea what is happening.
